RACER RESIN

NORTH AMERICA 2013 NATIONAL FINAL RESULTS

The 2013 Racer Resin North America Championships were run this past Saturday April 27, 2013. 13 Racers who either advanced from prior qualifying races this seasion, or had prior championship exemptions, participated at Great Traditions in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each racer would run 10 minutes on each of the 4 lanes on the Carrera layout.

Handout Slot.IT silicone tires , and hand out Slot.IT 21.5k motors, pre-tested to be within 900 RPM variance were used. After cars passed tech inspection, drivers were given 10 laps to get a feel for their cars with the new motors and tires. In addition, the driver's best lap time during that period was used to determine the starting lineup order. Those with best lap times were grouped in the middle of the lineup, those with the highest lap times were placed at the extremes of the lineup. In this way, those with the lowest lap times ran together in the round robin format. Top qualifier was Dave Davis, with a 6.966 best lap time.

After the first four drivers rotated in, Dave Hoffman set the pace completing 310 laps. Next up was Joseph Rosales, who was first to run 81 laps in a segment, doing so in the yellow and blue middle lanes, finishing with 318 laps. The next two racers entering were the two top qualifiers, Sam Barbose, reigning Racer Resin N. America champion, and Dave Davis.

Sam ran a consistent 81 laps on each of the four lanes, to take the overall lead with 324 laps. Dave Davis followed, starting with 80 laps on outside gutter red lane, one lap off Sam's pace. Dave made up for it, running 83 laps on the remaining 3 lanes, for a total of 329 laps. Congratulations to Dave Davis, the 2013 Racer Resin North America Finals Champion.
